This game is revving to go, so we're going to start things off with a pre-opening TEST DRIVE MEME. This meme will be open up until the game opens properly, so please keep checking back with it and tag anyone who posts a little later. :)

TO START US OFF....

A. The mundane!

1) > You have discovered a portal to the meat dimension. Congratulations, you're at Chinese Diner Aiya! The rainy day challenge sure is difficult... But maybe this time you can make it.

2) > Every day's great at your Junes! You've run into each other at Junes! Maybe you're buying a Jack Frost Doll, or a magic set. Or maybe you're just getting groceries.

3) > Off to school you go. Class, quizzes, creepy teachers, clubs, and Social Linking ahoy!

4) > So you need some money to buy that Rise doll you saw at Junes, why not get a job? Frustrating co-workers, meeting people you may or may not recognize as customers. Get ready for the usual "I didn't know you worked here!" talk, because it's coming your way.

B. The extraordinary!

1) > You wake up on a mysterious train, and so has the person right next to you. You have no idea what train this is, where it's headed, or how you came to be there, and it seems like neither does your new friend. Why not chat about it?

2) > Your first venture inside the TV World. How does it go? How do you get there? And most importantly, who are you going with?

3) > There are three enemies! But holy shit this is your first fight, how are you going to handle this? Good thing you've got party members to help you out!

[As it isn't too late after he's home, and Nanako is in bed already, Dojima decides to pick up the phone to check up on how Souji is doing. He knows it must be hard for him, being away from the friends he made here.

Even so, this will be a whole bucket of awkward.

Ring Ring, Ring Ring.]

[Click.]

...hello? [ If he's surprised that the call's from Dojima and not one of his friends, he doesn't say. Souji's quiet, the phone held loosely against his ear. He shouldn't be missing him and Nanako already, should he?]

[As soon as the click of the phone call starting arrives in his ear, Dojima clears his throat. He has the excuse of family calling to check up on him, but it isn't really an excuse anyway. He does want to know how Souji is settling in.]

I'm just calling to see how you're doing? [He makes it a question, a little unsure if it's too soon. He heard from him when he'd arrived back with his parents safely, but this isn't quite the same.]

[Souji stands in the middle of his room, eyes glancing over the still-packed suitcase in front of the futon. He can hear his parents' voices from the other room.]

I'm doing alright. [There's a note of uncertainty as he replies.] We just got back from dinner.

[He's not the only one uncertain about this. Souji is part of his family now too though, so checking up on him is something that will always spring to mind when he has a shred of free time. Just like now.]

Still having to deal with eating out?

[He isn't sure what his sister normally does about the cooking anymore anyway but... it's something light to talk about.]

[It's weird...the layout of his old room doesn't feel as familiar as the one he'd had in Inaba. Maybe it was because his parents' house didn't feel as much as of a home as Dojima's had. Not to say his parents were cruel--they were just...busy.]

Yeah...not for long, though. I'm usually the one who does the cooking here.

[As late as his parents usually come back from work, he didn't have much of an option before.]

[...Some things never change, do they? He feels sorry for him, stuck being shipped around his family then when he finally is home his parents aren't there anyway. Not really.

He has to resist the urge to say he can always come back, if he wants. His room is untouched, save for when Nanako goes in there to be as close to 'Big Bro' as possible.]

Do you at least get to choose the meals? [He sounds amused... almost, though that's only because he forces it up. Even now, he still feels a little awkward doing these sort of conversations.]

They aren't home enough to give me their opinions most days. [Well, being blunt is something he's learned while in Inaba. If there's anything he's realized after dealing with his friends' Shadows, it's that keeping things bottled up is never a good idea.

Even now, though, he simply states it as fact, without a trace of resentment. It just...is. A year away from his parents hasn't changed that at all.]

They're busy. [Again with the polite, neutral tone.] I save some of whatever I make for them so they can heat it up when they come back.

I see. [Just like Nanako does, really. There's a twinge of guilt, as he has promised to spend more time with her, but he brushes it off for the conversation at hand.

At least after some of the things he's heard Souji answer he's glad he's still himself, to be honest. The bluntness... it's welcomed. It may make him feel a little uncomfortable (as this is his sister they're talking about) but he doesn't mind.]

As long as you're taking care of yourself.

I am. You don't need to worry about me.

[As awkward as it had been with his uncle in the beginning, there's definitely real trust between them now, and Souji does appreciate the quiet gestures Dojima makes from time to time to show he cares.]

What about you and Nanako? [It hasn't been that long since he left, but he still wants to know.]

[There is trust now. Dojima knows, in the end, he placed his trust in the entirely wrong person. There's a little guilt there for doubting Souji, but he won't mention it. Ever.]

We're fine. I... [He pauses here, the awkward silence for the next few moments showing his hestitation.] I managed to get home early the past few days.
